Climate
The Northern Cape/Free State is characterised by very hot summers. During winter, one can expect cold nights and pleasant days, although frontal weather systems passing through the country can result in cold daytime temperatures.
Vegetation & Terrain
The terrain is generally flat although certain parts consist of mountainous areas, the veld is Savannah grassveld interspersed with broken Thornveld. The surface can vary from rock and stony veld to sandveld.
Clothing
Shirts, either long or short sleeved and long trousers that are of a tough fabric are recommended. During Autumn (March, April, May) and Spring (September October) it is advisable to bring a couple of pairs of short pants. Warm clothing such as sweaters and a good bush jacket is advisable. A good pair of hunting boots that are well worn in and comfortable, sun cream and a hat. Camouflaged clothing is allowed.

Permits & Licenses
All your hunting licenses for plains game are included in your daily rate. Certain species could require that you obtain special licences or permits such as CITES. We will assist you in obtaining these once your safari is booked. These are required for your trophies to be exported.
Health
No compulsory vaccinations are required. The Northern Cape and Free State are malaria-free. It is advised that you bring your own medication for any ailment that requires constant medication. Medical facilities are available in Kimberley which boasts modern and up-to-date facilities.
Water
We supply our own proprietary bottled drinking water.
Electricity
Power supply is 220/240 volts
Currency
Currency is the Rand, but exchange services are supplied should it be required. It is advised that all transactions are done in U.S.$.
Value Added Tax
V.A.T of 15% is levied on most goods and services. Prices displayed on all goods are inclusive of V.A.T. Keep receipts for goods purchased for more than R250.00, as V.A.T payments will be refunded for these items at any of the international airports before your departure. Gratuities are a personal consideration. 10-15% is considered as the norm in most establishments.
Driver's Licence
Any valid driver's license is accepted in South Africa, provided it bears the photograph and signature of the holder and is printed in English. If your license does not comply, you should obtain an International Driving Permit before departure from your country.
Liability Cover
We do have emergency medical services which will collect clients by helicopter / ambulance after an incident and take them to the nearest and most appropriate medical facility for treatment.
Cellphone Reception
Cellphone reception is available on most of our concessions. These include MTN, Vodacom & Cell C providers. Packages are available for use with existing phones.
